In the meeting held between the Director of the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption, Mr. Yll Buleshkaj and the director of the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption in Montenegro ( Agency for the Prevention of Corruption ), Mrs. Jelena Perović, discussed the topics of the prevention of corruption, with special emphasis on mutual cooperation in order to ensure an environment with more integrity in the institutions of the respective countries. During the meeting, other important topics regarding good governance, transparency and accountability were also touched upon.

Director Yll Buleshkaj thanked Ms. Perović for the visit to Kosovo and to APK and for its support as well as for the exchange of experiences in the field of institutional integrity, respectively in the drafting, approval and monitoring of integrity plans. Buleshkaj also listed some of the successes achieved by the Agency, including the reduction of cases carried over the years, the improvement of cooperation with local institutions, the improvement of the professional capacities of the staff, and the strengthening of regional and European cooperation.

Director Perović expressed gratitude for the work and commitment of APK in the prevention of corruption and I emphasize that our Agencies are of great importance in the prevention of corruption in our countries. The APK of Montenegro continues to be ready to support the APK in the implementation of its mandate, either through the exchange of practices, the organization of visits, the exchange of documents or other promotional activities.

Both directors agreed to continue cooperation for strengthening the reporting mechanism, anti-corruption review of legislation and prevention of conflict of interest as important areas for improving the lives of the citizens of our countries.
